The gadgets we use every day have been around for a while. You may not be familiar with the name, but you probably know the product.

Here are some of the most influential gadgets ever made:

Atari 2600 Video Game System. 

The first home video game system. It was released in 1977 and cost $199. It had a joystick controller and came with Combat and Space Invaders games.

Apple Macintosh. 

The first computer to use a graphic user interface (GUI) and mouse-driven icons on a desktop screen. It was introduced in 1984 at a price of $2,495 - more than double the price of other computers at the time.

BlackBerry smartphone. 

The first handheld mobile device to support email, calendar management, text messaging, web browsing and multimedia messaging service (MMS). It debuted in 1999 as Research In Motion's (RIM) first smartphone model and went on to become one of the most popular mobile devices on the market today.
